Under Construction

This Village is still under construction!

Village is the quilt pattern by Carrie Nelson that Sherri and I are featuring in Minis and More this month and last month too.

It's a big quilt, so we thought two months would be a good amount of time to get it done.

Some of you are making yours smaller and changing the pattern up a bit.  If you're interested in joining in, its not too late, you can find the pattern at The Fat Quarter Shop.

As you can see, I'm making it big and scrappy, so mine might be a work in progress for some time.

At first I was a little intimidated by my large pile of scraps and the pieces of stash fabric that I had pulled out to use, but once I got started on it, I had trouble taking a break!

Thelma of Cupcakes and Daisies is making one too. I'm inspired by her houses and I love that she's making them from scraps of each of the quilts she makes this year.  What a great idea!

I can't wait to see all of those Villages when its time for the Minis and More Parade.

Since the first falls on a weekend, the Parade will be on May 2. You can see it here and on Sherri's blog, A Quilting Life too!

I did take a quick break from building all of those houses to quilt my Clambake Mini.

The straight lines took awhile, but I think it was so worth it.

Once I add the binding,  I'll be back to show you more!

Your houses are wonderful!! I have a soft spot for quilts and cross stitch samplers with houses. Great job on Clambake... your quilting really enhances the pattern. happy stitching!

Love your houses! I've changed my pattern a bit (okay a lot) so it's smaller and already done. But then I start to think ... and now I have a few other ideas;-)

I love your houses!! I just started on mine a few days ago, so I don't think I'll be ready for the "open house" in time! :-) But it's been fun to do them!! Love your clambake quilt too!!! Hugs, H

I really like the quilting on your Clambake mini...of course I really love the whole quilt...that's the only way I'd ever make one (no curves!)

The houses are too cute. Isn't it nice to use up those odd scraps.
