Summertime

It's definitely summer!

The kids are out of school, you can fry an egg on the sidewalk, and vacation is about to begin!

So there's no better time to have our Minis and More Parade with a summer theme.

June was a month of patriotic pincushions for me! These Sweet Liberty Tuffets by Carrie Nelson have been on my list of things I want to make for years.  I'm not kidding.  I've had the pattern and a pile of red, white and blue scraps ready to go for that long.  I'm so happy to be able to cross them off that list and enjoy them before the Fourth of July!

This Schnibbles pattern is now out of print, but if you haven't made any of these cute pincushions yet you're in luck.  Carrie Nelson kindly shared the pattern on Moda's blog, The Cutting Table, last year.  You can still find it in the post called 'A Sweet Little Treat'.  Thanks so much Carrie!

Mindy's cute flower mini is perfect for this Parade.  This was a from a Block of the Month that the Fat Quarter Shop did a few years ago. The light, bright, colors of the fabrics look so summery!

An adorable mermaid mini quilt is Patty's Parade entry.  How creative!  Patty made this as a gift for a good friend.  She paper pieced it and used fun, organic, wavy lines for the quilting.  This is her twenty-sixth finish of the year!  Wow!  That's impressive!  You can read more about it on her blog Elm Street Quilts.

The other half of our summertime project Parade is on Sherri's blog, A Quilting Life. Be sure to go over and view the rest of the summer themed projects!

Our July mini is a cute new Mini Tulip Market Pattern by Corey Yoder.

You can find this charm pack friendly pattern here in her shop.

Corey used a gray fabric for the background, which looks amazing, but any color would be wonderful for the background and it would give this adorable mini quilt a totally different look.

Have fun with it!

Send photos of your completed tulip mini quilt to Sherri or to me to be entered in the next Minis and More Parade before August first.

We hope you'll join us!
