Starting a new year with Minis and More!

Happy New Year!

The holiday rush is over, the decorations are cleaned up, the Christmas cookies are almost gone, and my college boy is back at school!  It's time to get 2017 started!

I'm excited to tell you about what Sherri and I have planned for Minis and More.

Since January is a month of cleaning up, cleaning out, and getting organized, we're focusing on UFO's this month!

I don't know about you, but I could certainly use some encouragement to get my unfinished projects done.

In fact, I'm going to try a lot harder to finish lots more projects this year than I did last year.  That's my quilting new year's resolution!

Last year, an unplanned renovation to our house left some of my 2016 projects in an unquilted state and I hope to have that corrected soon.

The last major phase of our renovation, which is painting baseboards, is supposed to begin tomorrow and hopefully it will be completed quickly.

I found ways to keep sewing through most of the renovation process, but getting out large quilts to quilt them just didn't mix well with paint, wood glue, and that kind of thing.

But piecing quilts was no problem!

Which as you can imagine, didn't help decrease my UFO collection.

Anyway, enough about my UFO woes, we want to hear about yours!

Send us a before and an after picture of a UFO that you finish in January.  We want to see what it looks like before you get it finished and after you complete it!  Two photos this month!

Sherri has some wonderful posts about getting organized, which would be great reading to start out the year.

We want to inspire you to finish up a UFO or two so you can enjoy some of those projects that have made their way to the bottom of the stack.

And just for fun, if you want to, in the comment section tell us how many UFO's you have, I'm kind of wondering......but honestly I'm not even going to count mine right now so you won't see my total there!

Send us your before and after UFO project pictures for our February Parade and then you'll be entered in our monthly drawing for a fun surprise!

Karen was our prize winner in the last Minis and More Parade!  Congratulations Karen!

If you are new to the Minis and More group or if you have't been able to participate recently we'd love to have you join us!  Leave us a comment or send an email to Sherri or to me and we'll be happy to answer your questions.

And because I like to include a picture in my posts, I'll show you my finished Cherrio mini that I completed over our Minis and More break.

It's a project that I did for our Minis and More Holiday Editon last year.

The pattern is by Camille Roskelley of Thimbleblossoms and the fabrics are a variety of red and green Moda Charm squares from different fabric lines.

Now, I'm off to look through my stack of UFO's!
