Remember wren

Remember my Carolina Wren family that built their nest in my Christmas Cactus and raised their family there last spring?

Well, they came back this year!

As soon as we put the cactus outside when warm weather arrived, they got started building their nest.

I didn't realize it at the time, but they arrived the same week last year.

I wasn't able to take any pictures of the nest this year because it was built like a tunnel.

I think they got tired of us looking at them, so this time they hid.

They did a pretty good job of it!

The wrens have since left their nest with their baby birds.

We enjoyed watching them come and go.

I'm planning to participate in the Friday Night Sew-In tonight.  I hope you join in too!

We have Caroline wrens coming to our feeder. They love mealworms! But, I haven't seen where they nest. We had a chickadee nest in our bird box and the little chick fledged on Mother's Day. We saw it!

How sweet! I love wrens, but I don't see them very often in our yard.

I have a family of Carolina Wrens on my front porch in one of my plants this year! It's my first experience with them and they babies just hatched! They are oh so hard not to constantly stare at! Her nest is somewhat of a tunnel, as well! I have to wait for mom to leave so I can discreetly stare at the babies! Thanks for sharing! And I am inspired to think that maybe they'll be back once they leave!

We love watching the birds in our area. We have two big pine trees that every spring become a wonderful busy community with Robins, Doves, Jays, Sparrows, Finches, Chickadees and even occasionally Hummingbirds nesting in them. Talk about a busy, wonderfully noisy bird neighborhood, LOL. The first hummingbird of the season arrive two days ago and now there are several more visiting our feeders all day long. So much fun to watch them. Thanks so much for sharing your Wren family with us. Hugs...

Oh, I always loved wrens. My grandma had birdhouses for them.
