I'm In B.O.M. Rehab

Sinta had a the wonderful idea to start a Block Of The Month Rehab group and I decided to join in! Working on neglected B.O.M. projects and posting progress reports on Mondays sounds like a great idea to me!  I know I need the help and support of other quilt bloggers to get through my stack of B.O.M.'s.

While looking for one forgotten collection of B.O.M.'s, I ran across these bright blocks from a B.O.M. program at my LQS. Since these blocks say spring and summer to me a little more than the blocks I was looking for, I decided to start my quest to do some finishing here.

All of these blocks are finished, but if I remember correctly, I thought one of the blocks just didn't look like it fit in to me and for some reason I wasn't willing to change it.  I think that was the problem that put a halt to my progress on this top.  Can you guess which block it was?   I'm pretty sure you know!  I don't know why I had trouble getting rid of it and moving on.  Maybe I just wanted to stick with the plan of that particular B.O.M.  Well now, many years later I still don't like it and I don't think I'd ever like this quilt with that particular block in it. Do you agree?  I think a visit to my stash and maybe to my LQS is in order to replace the offending block.

Here's the stack of B.O.M.'s that I originally had in mind for a Rehab project. I did eventually find them.  I would have spread them out a little more for the picture, but I realized that I already had then labeled in order of where I wanted them placed in the quilt, and I'm not willing to mess that up!

I know this post doesn't show any progress on a particular block, but I'm happy with just locating a few long forgotten projects and starting a plan! To see lots of inspiring B.O.M. progress be sure to visit Sinta's blog soon!

Yes, you must have made that one top and center from another person's stash Michele! Fix it quick.

The odd block is totally the top middle one. I would surely fix it! The rest are gorgeous! The offender is nice, too, just not with the rest. It is great to have a plan, isn't it?

Yup - I agree. The one block at the top middle looks a little strange. :-). I think a shopping trip is definitely in order! Have fun!

Pretty blocks - even the odd block. Hope you let us see how the top is set together when you get there.

Pretty blocks but you are right the top centre doesn't co ordinate. Well done for finding the UFOs. That's half the battle. The next bit is to work out a way forward which suits you now and finishing them.Great goal!

Yup. Get it outta there and make another to fit the others and it would be a great finished BOM! I don't understand why some quilt shops do that. Give some great fabrics for some blocks and some odd ducks for others.

I see that those who have commented before me think that it is the top center block also. It is a pretty block though, maybe it will fit in somewhere else. I was thinking about hidden BOM projects and found a garden quilt that I had blocks sent to me each month. I have one and a half blocks complete. I think I should get at it now that I am in BOM Rehab.

Maybe the offending block would look better in the bottom group of BOM's? I think that you are referring to the top center block also.. looking forward to seeing what you make to replace it. :o)

I think that top center block is out of place. The fabrics just done work with the others.
