Easter Binding Not Easter Bunnies

I was determined to finish the binding on this Easter table runner before this Easter, and I did it! This project has been hanging around for awhile.  You can read about it here and here. The binding was a hurricane project for last hurricane season......June through November......, but luckily there were no hurricanes, so I forgot about it until last week. What's a hurricane project? Here in Florida we are in Hurricane Country, and I like to have a hand project set aside, along with all of the essential emergency supplies and snacks of course, to keep me busy during those long, boring power outages.

Since the original plan was to have this completed for last Easter......which obviously didn't happen and that's why it got put in the hurricane project pile......I really wanted to make it happen this year. How could a table runner become a UFO, twice?   When I got it out last week, I was happy to see that I had used scraps from the top of the runner for both the backing and the binding so I had managed to use as much of those beautiful Easter fabrics as possible.

After I finished up the binding today, my son and I made a carrot cake and planted some spring flowers. Now I'm off to make the carrot cake frosting and the Hash Brown Casserole that I'll be taking to our friends' home tomorrow for Easter brunch. What special treats does your family enjoy on Easter?
Have a wonderful Easter Sunday!

Love the runner! Now I wish I'd made one for my table. An Easter staple is pineapple stuffing (apparently, it is everyone's staple around here - I got the last two cans of crushed pineapple at the supermarket!) And, of course, ham, but my Aunt bring Pierogie (yay!) and Kielbasa (double yay!!)

What a very Springy/Easter runner! I love it. I just remembered yesterday that I have a runner for Easter (with bunnies on it) that I never put the binding on. Time to dig it out and get it done for next year. We enjoy traditional Polish/Ukraine feast. Borscht, eggs, ham, kielbasa. And my aunt makes a hash brown casserole among other goodies. My mom is making pork and I think a pot roast. I will be totally stuffed by this evening! Happy Easter!
