Farm Girl

It's time for my Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along update this week.

Here's the Autumn Star block that I finished yesterday.

I love the citron and pink triangles in this one.

Since I'm making the 6 inch size block, some of the pieces are pretty small!

Now, the Baby Chick block.  It's so cute!

Yes, I know he has no legs.  I do need to work on that.

Hand embroidery or machine? I'm not sure what I want to do here.

I've got my fabrics picked out for tomorrow, Farm Girl Friday!

Very cute - as always I love your fabric choices. I vote for hand embroidery...easier to make it look the way you want...plus I love hand embroidery.

Love the blocks... particularly that little chick! I did some embroidery with my sewing machine a while back...bird legs in fact...I used the triple stitch on my machine (a Janome) with a Sulky rayon thread and it turned out great. I drew the lines I wanted to stitch with chalk first so it was easy to figure out where I was going. That's my 2 cents worth!

You're tempting me to play along, even though I told myself no more projects until I get some finished ;-) Love the chick block especially!

Super cute! How did you end up doing the chick legs?

Though the small blocks can be fiddly if they have a lot of pieces, they are are satisfying to finish one and have it look nice!
