Halloween mug rug

This Halloween mug mat has been on my list to make for quite some time.

Both the pattern and the Boo Crew fabric are from Sweetwater.

As you can see, I've been keeping candy in it and I can't quite bring myself to put a mug on it, because I like it that much.

Maybe I could put a glass of water on it, just maybe.

But definitely not a coffee cup.

By doing some fussy cutting with a piece of hocus pocus fabric from Alexander Henry that I've been saving, I was able to make it reversible.

I wasn't so sure how well I had centered it, but considering the small size of the piece of fabric that I had to work with it, I think it went pretty well!

I put the mug mat with candy in it on the kitchen counter last week and all of that candy has "disappeared".  Kind of spooky!

How much Halloween candy has "disappeared" from your house even though we have a few more days before the trick-or-treaters arrive?

This is really cute!! Love the little pocket. I don't have any wee ones any more and one of my grandsons is allergic to many things in candies so I don't keep them around - and I really don't need the sugar and calories.

I really like the idea of a little pocket in the cute mug rug. Fun fabrics too. A bit of our candy has disappeared too.

I did not eat the candy. I swear I didn't. Really and truly. Honest. (do you believe me?)

I LOVE THE FABRIC IN YOUR MUG RUG! I agree, water only.

This is really adorable! I just did a mug rug swap and would have loved to get this!!! I hear ya about actually using it to put drinks on. I'm using mine under my little scissors/tools caddy and pincushion on my sewing table.
