Christmas in July

It sure doesn't feel like Christmas here, but I'm working on a Christmas quilt anyway.

My Lincoln Schnibble is a work in progress with a few different lines of Christmas fabric involved.

Later in the week we're going to watch the movie Elf like we do each summer, and make some Christmas cookies too, maybe Potato Chip Cookies.

At Christmas every year my boys ask for Potato Chip Cookies.

Now that I think about it, making them in July would be appropriate too.  The ingredients are going on my grocery list right now!

Just a fun, silly thing to do when it gets so hot.

This quilt will fit right in!

What do you think about a name for this one?

While I sew, I'm tossing around some ideas.

Maybe "Christmas at the White House", or the name I like even better "A Log Cabin Christmas".

Didn't Lincoln live in a log cabin?  Isn't that how the song goes?

And these blocks are similar to log cabin blocks. Hmm..............

Well, the Friday Night Sew-In is sure coming at us fast!

Wendy from Sugar Lane Quilts is assisting Heidi with the sew-in for a few months, so you can find the sign up HERE.

I'm looking forward to an evening of sewing, snacks and probably pizza too!  That will keep my boys busy.

Not the sewing I guess, but the snacks and pizza will certainly help.

It'll be great excuse to take the evening off and work on my Lincoln Schnibble.

I hope you make plans to put some things aside on Friday and get sewing!

Lincoln is going to look fabulous in Christmas prints. I tried to come up with a name that would include the potato chip cookies. LOL

Your blocks look great! I really need to start on a Christmas quilt. I mean to every year but I never get around to it.

You will love having that as a Christmas quilt when the season arrives. Enjoy Elf.

I agree with Darlene, Lincoln will look fabulous in Christmas. In fact, "I'm dreamin' of a Christmas Lincoln!"

It is going to be so pretty. I just bought some of the same fabric. The one with the peppermints but in green.

Log Cabin Christmas is a good name! I just love Christmas and Halloween fabric. I can't resist any christmas fabric with aqua in it. My kids have never seen elf but we will definitely have to watch it this year.

How I love all those fabrics, Michele! I have three Christmas quilts - some of each are in it! What a great tradition to watch Elf in July and make cookies - speaking of which I've never heard of Potato Chip Cookies - these I have to try! I'm no good with quilt names, but I love JoAnn's idea of Christmas Lincoln!
Cheers!
