.......Or being really happy that I was almost finished with the borders on Doc, then realizing I'd sewn one whole row of triangles together the wrong way......" big sigh"
Well, I'm writing this post while I put off going back to my Doc and taking apart that side border of triangles. I've been putting off returning to the project all day, so I'm trying to look at it like moving forward while I take those stitches out, not moving backward. I guess it's working. What happened was, I was sewing later at night than I should have been, and I think that's where I went wrong. I should have called it quits earlier than I did, instead of trying to push through to the end and finish it up. I couldn't help it. I was excited to finish this one! I've seen so many nice Doc quilts out there in Blogland already! It was a silly mistake as I went from making the top and bottom borders to the side borders. That's what I get for not looking at the directions as I went along LOL!!
Thanks for listening! I'm going to get started frogging and moving forward as I listen to the rain.

It's hard not to make mistakes after long hours on a project or working too late. I've done it too many times! Looking forward to seeing yours! Stay dry!
Oh I can't wait to see it all finished! :-)
Excited to see your Doc finished...never fear, I accidently cut my charms ALL into fours (instead of half and then two quarters I had four quarters) so I had to sew a pair together to get my half and I felt like I was moving backwards the whole time. It turned out great though and I am SO glad I made it!
I'm sure it's going to be beautiful. Sorry there were bumps along the way for you. It happens to all of us.
Oh, those little challenges when assembling a quilt top - BIG SIGH! LOL
Even when I look at the directions, not once but several times I still manage to mess it up. LOL
Doc looks like an interesting quilt to make. Good luck finishing it. I did the same with a whole row on the batik quilt and suddenly noticed that the colours weren't flowing diagonally. It took a while to work out where the mistake was. Good that you spotted yours early. Have a cuppa as a reward when the unpicking is done.
It's always so hard to get back into a project when it has to be un-sewn before you move ahead.
