I've been trying to focus on getting some quilting done.
I thought I'd start with the next quilt I thought I'd use, and now I'm happy to say that my Halloween Clover quilt has been quilted!
Woo Hoo!
I'm in the process of pulling the threads through and when I'm finished with that, then I'll show you the whole thing.
There are lots and lots of threads that need to be taken care of on this one, but I'm already about halfway done.
One more good TV evening and I'll be finished!
Meet my new neighbor!
This guy showed up in our backyard yesterday and we had a good time watching him walk around beside the fence line.
As you can see, when we found him he was standing on the garden hose.
My nature loving neighbor had told us that a gopher tortoise had made it's home beside her house and we figured this was who she was talking about.
After he had throughly scared Copper, who had no idea what this was, and it seemed that the tortoise couldn't figure out how to get out of our fence and go back home, we brought him back to his hole with my neighbor's help.
I wonder if he'll be back again today.
Love your new friend there. He must be looking for a place to hibernate for the winter.
ReplyDeleteGood quiet neighbor you have there.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your quilt.
Oooh, spiderweb quilting?! I like it! Wow, what a cool turtle, I like that your neighbor new exactly what kind it was.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool about the tortoise! :0)
ReplyDeleteQuiet neighbor you have found. Love the spiderweb quilting, can't wait to see the rest.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...I like the spider webs. Can't wait to see the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteWell you've tickled my fancy with this quilt, Michele! I love spider webs and Halloween. I can't wait to see the entire finish! What a great visitor to your yard! We have small ones in our park, but nothing like this fella. He's quite handsome and looks as though he's been around for a while!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Love that quilting. I need to finish my Boo Crew Chicken Feed schnibbles. I was hoping for this Halloween. I don't think that's going to happen. :(
ReplyDeleteI love your Halloween quilt! It's just so cute!
ReplyDeleteYour little tortoise is an adorable guy!
That's pretty cool! I would love to have that guy visit my yard:). We have TONS of box turtles in our yard. When I was a teacher I left for work at 6am and drove a really long highway through rural country for about 30 minutes. There were so many box turtles trying to cross in the spring. I started carrying an empty copy paper box in my trunk and picking them up. I was good friends with the media specialist so I'd just put the turtle(s) in a closet in the library while I worked--I already had 2 kids by then so I just worked mornings--and then I'd bring them home and the kids and I would let them go in our yard. I realize now that I shouldn't have moved them far from their home base because apparently turtles have small territories but many of them are still in our yard years later! We've even seen teeny baby box turtles so some must have been okay.
ReplyDeleteExcited to see the full reveal of your quilt! The spiderweb quilting design is so cool.
