Wrapping some things up

The fall decorating has begun even though the temperatures haven't dropped much.

Maybe if I get out some of the fall quilts it will at least look like fall!

Since I've been busy doing that, there isn't much new quilting going this week, but I am wrapping up a few projects.

I've had some quilts that have been waiting around for labels and I decided to get going on those before I start anything new.

I never really feel like a quilt is complete until it has a label on it!

I'm having a harder and harder time finding panels of labels, so this time I had to improvise a bit and make some of my own using leftover fabric.

I'm hoping to get these sewn on this week and straighten up my sewing area too.

Before a new season begins seems like a good time to pause and get things in order.

I can start fresh on a few new projects at the beginning of next week.

Starting the new Schnibbles pattern, getting a quilt top ready to quilt, and working on the Sweetwater Label Crew Halloween Basket are all on my to do list.

But until then, I'm going to take some time to finish up a few things!

What are you up to this week?

  1. I always forget the label... But I am determined to start labeling my quilts now too. I haven't been working on many quilty things this week. Too much going on... :-(

  3. Your labels look great! I need to get some done on my latest finishes too. Why is it that those always get ignored???

  4. I firmly believe in labels - whether pre-printed, self made, written into the back (or front) - document those quilts.

  5. Nice labels. I need to do the same. None of my quilts have labels. The Fall weather is here up north but 90+ degrees is coming back for a brief visit tomorrow.

  6. I'm trying to get into the swing of Fall as well. You have reminded me that I have labels to attach as well. No, you have made me feel guilty!

  7. I'm so very bad at labeling. My daughter designed labels that I hope to share soon. Then I think I'll have a label-fest and get them on the quilts. Your handwriting is so neat.

  8. P.S. May I ask what type of pen you use?

  9. Great labels, Michele! I love it when anyone gets creative with them! It seems we're both doing the same thing this week - finishing up projects!
    Cheers!

  10. I feel the same way about the label being needed for a complete finish. :) I tend to do them in batches, though - works well since I like to print portions of them out on fabric, and it saves when I can do a few at a time instead of losing most of a sheet. Your labels are CUTE!!

  11. I haven't labeled quilts for so long. Naughty of me, I know. I mean too, but I must feel like the quilt is finished when the binding is finished coz I just can't bring myself to hand sew a label on after. It would just take way too long. Quilts I give away as gifts I do label. Maybe I should just write in fabric marker on the backing of quilts I keep.
