A Speck of Christmas in October

Here's my finished Speck!

I've seen lots of great X's and O's out there and I can't wait to see them all in the parade on Sherri's blog, and on Sinta's too!

These Little Bites patterns by Carrie are so tiny and fun!

I chose to do the O option for Speck since I had two different Christmas Moda Candies to use, Blitzen and Countdown to Christmas.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to stick with just the plain white border on this one to keep it small and simple.

JoAnne mentioned awhile back that she had a little trouble pressing these like she should.  Even though she mentioned it, and I think I even commented that I'd be careful with the pressing, I still did the same thing!

Good grief!  You would have thought I'd pay more attention to the pressing after she brought it up, but I didn't!

The repressing was totally worth it to make this project fall right in place! Like JoAnne said, the seams just snap together when they are pressed the way Carrie suggests.

See you at the parade!

  5. Oh dear! I did warn you, though, ha ha. I love your little Christmas version, but then I love Basic Grey. I haven't seen too many "o" versions and I really like how the abscense of sashing encourages the eye to see both x's and o's. Another stunner!

  8. I love it. It's still so hot, but I can't believe yesterday I found myself humming a Christmas carol to myself at Target. (One that I have to be careful or it sticks in my head and I can't get it out) It's getting closer to the season, and your little quilt is perfect.

  9. Great job on this project. Your "o's" seem so much more visible than mine. I hear ya on the pressing thing, because a couple of mine got pressed wrong because I was not paying attention and it didn't take much to convince me back to the iron to correct things. I love your fabric choice. Very pretty!
