Last week my son's class took a field trip to Disney World!..........Why do we call them field trips? Is anyone actually visiting a field?.............. The class went on a scavenger hunt through the Magic Kingdom looking for clues and solving riddles related to the Disney Kingdom Keepers book series. I was lucky enough to be able to go with them, so I thought I'd share a few pictures with you.
Tomorrowland is full of futuristic buildings that the boys loved. This one just caught my eye.
This was the view I had of the Space Mountain entrance when I waited for the kids to finish the ride. Take note that I wasn't riding it.
The Haunted Mansion was definitely a hit with this group of sixth grade boys!
Just a tip, it's not a good idea to ride Splash Mountain right before you get on the bus to go home. I knew this wasn't a smart plan, but because we had to follow the clues in order, I didn't have much of a choice!
Cinderella Castle was the final destination on their quest. What a beautiful spot to end the visit.....well, I guess we actually ended the visit in the gift shop, but this was pretty close to the end!
The kids had a great time on the trip and although they were disappointed that Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was closed the day we were there, they were all excited about the New Fantasyland construction. There are lots of changes taking place right now, with the largest expansion the Magic Kingdom has ever experienced. You know we'll be going back to see it when it's finished!
If you're still reading this, thanks for sticking with me through all these pictures! I really enjoy reading everyone's travel posts and seeing the amazing places that you've been, so I thought I'd share a few pictures from our super fun field trip. I promise my next post will be a quilty one. Kris put together a great mini-quilt swap that wraps up at the end of the month. Right now, I'm working on my swap gift for Michelle, so I don't want to show pictures yet anyway. I'll be sure to share what I'm working on when I can!
What a fun field trip!! I live in California so I've only been to the Disneyland in L A. ......might go this summer!
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm in CA too, but I wanna go back to DisneyWorld now. How fun to live close enough to take field trips there! We didn't live near any fields that were that cool when I was in school! Loved your photos! Thanks for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Disney, nothing is more fun than a trip to the World! I have never visited the one California, but have been to FLorida a few times.
ReplyDeleteLol I dont know why they call it a field trip either. Nothing field about them. But looks like they enjoyed. Do you like to follow each other? Let me know. Will love to follow you back.

Now that is what I call a GREAT field trip. It looks like it was a gorgeous day too. It will be fun to go back after Fantasyland is finished. I remember going to Disneyland in the late 50s and walking through the home of tomorrow. It is fun to remember some of the things that were so futuristic at the time - microwave ovens, caller ID on the phones, remote controls, etc. How quickly life changes!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! One of my fav places to go, even as an adult!
ReplyDeleteFun post! The kids (and you) will have forever memories. :)
ReplyDeleteOoooooo!!!!!!! I can't wait to gooooooo in september!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, Michele. Very fun, reminds me of my childhood visit to Disneyland. I've never forgotten the Haunted Mansion--I bet they've improved on it a lot. I really liked your Summer Days quilt--lovely fabrics and so fresh.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
