Friday we took a trip to the pumpkin patch. Well okay its not exactly a real pumpkin patch, but it's as close to a pumpkin patch as we get here in Florida. There are no hayrides, cider or apples at this patch, just lots of pumpkins and some gourds that have made the trip on a truck from some cooler part of the country for us to enjoy. The boys still get their pictures taken while looking for pumpkins, and we enjoy it despite the heat!

These gourds and small pumpkins look like a quilt! |
|
"Can I put a fog machine in this one?" Really, that's what he wants to do with the pumpkin. |
|
I love the shape of the stems. |
|
Pondering what he would make with the pumpkin that's been shaped differently by a vine. |
|
Different shades of orange. |
|
Lots of colors and textures. |
Enjoy your Fall or whatever season you may be celebrating where you live.
Cool!! We don't having anything like close to where I live.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. :)
God bless and keep you,
Sonia
It sort of reminds me of pumpkins here in Hawaii. We do have a large patch where you can go and pick one. No cider, apples, etc. There are bouncy houses and pony rides. The only problem--the owners were brought up on charges of human trafficking with their workers. They also grow all the pumpkins available on the island, so this will be the second year in a row that we won't have pumpkins unless I can find some shipped in from elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteThe colors of the season are beautiful even if they have to truck in your decorations! :o) Selecting the perfect pumpkin is fun no matter what the temp is.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! We will celebrate Halloween at sea this year and I am sure there will be pumpkins here, too. It's not Halloween without them. :)
ReplyDeleteA fog machine!! Cool idea!
ReplyDeleteWell, did you stop and get a fog machine on the way home?
ReplyDeleteFun! I hope to take Amelia to a pumpkin patch this Fall.
ReplyDeleteHi, longtime?? Love all the pumpkins. How many did you buy.lol
ReplyDeleteLove your quilts. Happy Fall!
Holy pumpkins!!! Yeah, we still need to pick ours!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! So glad they have pumpkins for you down in sunny Florida :)!
ReplyDeleteLots of pumpking patches here but I bought the one and only pumpkin so far at Trader Joe's, lol.
ReplyDeleteI think a fog machine would be really cool.
Those gourds are fantastic! I tried growing some one year but was at too high an altitude to have a long enough growing season, so mine became Christmas Tree decorations. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe bought a tiny pumpkin this year so son can carve it as we don't eat it. I have been making some pumpkins to decorate with though.
